Meet Dr. Schiavone, Oral Surgeon in Greensboro
Matthew Schiavone DMD, MD is a dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He graduated summa cum laude from the College of William and Mary and earned his DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Schiavone completed medical school and residency at Rutgers University Hospital in Newark, NJ. He has performed more than 1,500 procedures as the primary surgeon, including numerous facial reconstruction surgeries. In addition, Dr. Schiavone is proficient in administering both conscious and deep sedation.
Dr. Schiavone’s extensive training allows him to provide the highest quality of care for his patients. His clinical focus includes wisdom teeth extractions, dental implant surgery, and bone grafting. Additionally, he performs zygomatic and pterygoid implant placement for patients who may not be candidates for traditional dental implants. Dr. Schiavone is also skilled in corrective jaw surgery, including for sleep apnea.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Schiavone is conversant in Spanish.
When he is not working, Dr. Schiavone enjoys spending time with his wife, a Greensboro native, and playing golf.
